The 6th Annual ArtsFest – ALL of the ARTS, ALL over TOWN – is coming to St. Charles Friday, September 8 through Sunday, September 17.
The event features multiple artistic disciplines in venues all over the city including art galleries, film, music, spoken word/poetry, and live theater. Featured events include the Pop-Up Art Galleries at Pheasant Run Resort, whose Opening Reception includes Color Field – an arts collaboration (curated by Laura Frazier) of Live Painting to Spoken Word and Music. This year there will be ELEVEN Art Galleries operating during the event, including the Norris Cultural Arts Center’s signature Vicinity Show, as well as the Park District and Fine Line’s Sculpture Exhibitions. In addition, by the opening day of ArtsFest, the SCAC’s Art in Public Places project will have kicked off. AiPP includes an Art Tour app that will allow festival goers to see and hear about all of the art in public places in St. Charles.
New to ArtsFest this year is the Geneva Film Festival, screening their Best of the Festival films at the St. Charles Public Library and Steel Beam Theatre. The Library screening is a reservation-only event in the beautiful Carnegie Room, which will be accessed through the historic Library entrance on Fifth Avenue – the first time those doors have been opened since the Library was remodeled nearly 50 years ago. The Downtown St. Charles Partnership’s Jazz Weekend returns, Steel Beam Theatre is opening their new season, and the Arcada has concerts scheduled almost every day of the Fest.
East Side, West Side, and Downtown – ALL over TOWN – residents and visitors will be treated to an incredible array of arts programming.
