Sculpture in the Park – The 12th Annual Sculpture in the Park runs May through mid-October each year. This event’s purpose is to raise awareness of the sculptural arts and the beautiful parks in downtown St. Charles. The Foundation strives to provide striking sculptural works with substantial breadth and depth in both subject matter and media for audiences to discuss, think about and enjoy.

Fine Line Creative Arts Center
Kavanagh Gallery – Fiber artist Marianne Williamson’s show Light and Motion in Textiles.  The reception is September 8 from 6 – 8 pm.

The Bead Challenge, for the Beads of Courage Program.  An open studio program for people who have some glass bead experience. No instruction will be given. Participants are asked to bring 5 beads to donate to the challenge, which is free. All supplies will be provided. Each participant will receive a free challenge t-shirt. Beads of Courage is an arts-in-medicine program to improve the quality of life for children coping with serious illnesses, and their families, and clinicians.

The Dempsey Gallery will feature one of their Local Artist shows, going on throughout ArtsFest.

create.Friday.  FL’s popular intimate class format is back for a second year! Refreshments and supplies are included with the class fee – basket making will be featured for this session.   September 15 from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Inaugural Sculpture on the Prairie exhibition features 11 sculptures located on the campus and prairie, through October 28.


Norris Cultural Arts Center Vicinity Show – Featuring works in all media, created by artists who reside within 50 miles of the NCAC, the Vicinity 2017 exhibit will open on Saturday, September 16. The exhibit is an annual highlight of the gallery season.  A reception honoring the artists of Vicinity 2017 is on Sunday, September 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. Winning entries in the exhibit will be announced, and prizes awarded to the artists. Free refreshments will be served.  Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.  Admission and parking are always free.  Call 630-584-7200 for more information.
