|The Norris Cultural Arts Center Presents “The Fine Things of Youth: Willa Cather’s Lucy Gayheart in Words and Music.” on Sunday, January 14 at 3 p.m.
From the NCAC: This unique hybrid work combines elements of literature, dramatic reading, theater, history and sublime songs, performed with deep conviction by baritone Evan Bravos, actress/singer Jill Anderson and collaborative pianist Shannon McGinnis. This classic coming-of-age story, created by Pulitzer Prize winning novelist Willa Cather, comes to life in a production that will touch your heart through a combination of narrative and carefully selected art songs you won’t soon forget.
Evan Bravos is a St. Charles native and 2006 graduate of St. Charles North High School, and is a rising star in the world of professional opera, with a rare command of the beloved art songs of Schubert and other leading composers of the 19th century Romantic period.
