SUBMISSIONS DUE ON MARCH 24 AT MIDNIGHT
The SCAC announces the Grand Opening of The Loft and The Street Galleries in Pheasant Run Resort’s Bourbon Street area.  Artists are invited to submit their work for jurying for the inaugural show, which will be in both galleries.

The inaugural show will run from Friday, April 28 through Sunday May 28.  The galleries will be actively promoted by the SCAC and Pheasant Run in social and print media.

Entries for the gallery can be in any style or medium of visual art.

FORMAT:
Juried
1. Jury fee for SCAC Artist Members is $25. Jury fee for non-Artist Members is $45.
2. When artwork is sold, the SCAC will take a 15% administrative fee.

(Jury Fee is nonrefundable).  Fees can be mailed to: St Charles Arts Council, 2 E. Main St., St. Charles, IL 60174, or paid online through the web site.  Click on the Yellow Donate button on any page. The SCAC is a 501c3 Public Charity.
(Artists interested in becoming an SCAC member – go to StCharlesArtsCouncil.org and click on “Donate” to make your membership payment.)

SUBMISSION:    All submissions must be electronic.  There is no form to fill out.

Please email the requested information and images of your submitted work to ArtistLiaison@StCharlesArtsCouncil.org.

Artists may submit up to 4 pieces for jurying. Jurors may select 1 or more pieces from each artist.
All submissions must include the following information for each image:

  1. Title of the piece
  2. Medium
  3. Dimensions
  4. Selling price

Images for Jurying: If you wish to submit an entry, please send, via email, jpg images of the artwork that you would like to enter in the gallery.  We will accept ONLY emailed entries. IMPORTANT DATES:
IMAGES MUST BE SUBMITTED BY Friday, March 24 at midnight.
Artists will be notified of the jury’s selection on or by Friday, March 31.
Receipt of work – Sunday, April 23 (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.) and Monday, April 25 (4 to 6 p.m.)
Gallery will be open:    
Friday, April 28 through Sunday, May 28
Artist Reception:           Friday, April 28 – 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

EXHIBITION/SALE DETAILS:

The gallery will be staffed by volunteers and artists.  It is not mandatory for artists to staff the gallery, but it is strongly encouraged.

Artwork will be in the gallery on consignment.

The artist will receive 85% of the selling price of their work.  Illinois sales tax will be collected, and is the responsibility of the artist to pay to the State.

All artwork must be ready to hang/install.  Sculpture pedestals/stands must be provided by the artist.  All artwork must be for sale.  Delivery and pick-up of the artwork will be the artist’s responsibility.

PROMOTION:

There is a comprehensive promotional plan for this exciting new program and the inaugural gallery, including E-Newsletters, social and traditional media.  Information about all artists in the show will be included on the SCAC’s website and each artist’s name will link to the artists’ web site or other electronic site provided by the artist.

CALL FOR STUDENT AND EMERGING ARTISTS VISUAL AND VIDEO ARTWORK
We will be opening a pop-up gallery featuring the work of Student/Emerging Visual and Video Artists, that will run from Saturday, March 11 through Saturday March 25. The Artist Reception will be from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., March 11.

Another Pop Up Arts gallery will run from Saturday, November 5 through Sunday November 27, as part of the 2nd Annual Celebrating Veterans Through Art event taking place in St. Charles, IL from November 5 – 12, 2016.  The Artist Reception will be Saturday, November 5.

The Theme of the gallery is “From Sea to Shining Sea”.  Artists should submit work that is of America and Americans – celebrating the depth and breadth of our country.  Entries for the gallery can be in any style or medium of visual art, or video, whose subject is people, places or things anywhere in America.

Pop Up Arts is a very successful initiative of the St Charles Arts Council.  This gallery will be our 19th Pop Up.  100% of the selling price of the work goes to the artist. The galleries are actively promoted in social and print media, and the artwork is insured.

Marquee Youth Stage (MyStage) is a 501(c)3 children’s theatre and performing arts organization dedicated to broadening the reach and impact of theatre so that students of all abilities and skills may benefit. Our goal is to increase the opportunities for theater in order to build confidence, enrich minds, ignite creativity, and ultimately empower youth with the skills and knowledge of how theater can serve and benefit the community at large.

Marquee Youth is located in The Quad, St. Charles, formerly known as Charlestowne Mall
studio C112, 3800 E. Main St, St. Charles.
Unless otherwise noted, all auditions, rehearsals, and performances are located at this location.

A local woman who is running for political office needs a picture for her web site.
The requirements for the photo are:
1. MUST BE… An image that reflects the beauty of the Fox River Valley – it can include the Fox River, bike path, or…?
2. NOTE IT… The photograph needs to be a landscape image, so “horizontal.”
3. NIX IT…No close ups of a building, or a photograph that reflects a single community.
4. WRITE IT… Permission from the photographer for the photograph to appear on the website’s splash page.

Photo credit will be provided on the requesters website. Also, a small stipend or gift certificate will be awarded to the photographer.
