SUBMISSIONS DUE ON FEBRUARY 16 AT MIDNIGHT
CALL FOR STUDENT AND EMERGING ARTISTS
VISUAL AND VIDEO ARTWORK
We will be opening a pop-up gallery featuring the work of Student/Emerging Visual and Video Artists, that will run from Saturday, March 11 through Saturday March 25. The Artist Reception will be March 11.
Visual and Video Student/Emerging Artists must submit their work electronically to ArtistLiaison@StCharlesArtsCouncil.org. There is NO FORM to fill out. Simply send an email with the following:
- An image of each piece of work submitted, the title, and the medium. Or, in the case of video, an electronic location where the work can be viewed.
- Artists may submit up to 5 pieces of their work.
- All submitted work MUST include the artist’s name, physical address, phone number, and school attended. Students may attend any school, including out of state schools.
Entries for the gallery can be in any style or medium of visual art, as well as video.
ALL SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE TO THE SCAC BY end-of-day, Thursday, February 16, 2017.
We will review all electronic submissions and contact artists with further information about the gallery by Monday, February 21.

Pop Up Arts is a very successful initiative of the St Charles Arts Council. This gallery will be our 20th Pop Up, and our 5th exclusively for Student/Emerging Artists. We encourage students to submit work that can be sold. 100% of the selling price of the work goes to the artist. The galleries are actively promoted in social and print media, and the artwork is insured.
IMAGES MUST BE SUBMITTED BY Thursday, February 16 at midnight.
Artists will be notified with further information about the gallery by Monday, February 21.
Receipt of work – Sunday March 5 (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.) and Monday March 6 (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.). Work should be delivered to 7 South 2nd AVENUE, St. Charles.
Gallery will be open: Saturday, March 11 through Saturday, March 25
Artist Reception: Saturday, March 11 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.
The gallery will be staffed by volunteers. Anyone interested in Volunteering to “sit” the gallery should contact the SCAC at 630.443.3794 or email us at Volunteer@StCharlesArtsCouncil.org.
All artwork must be ready to hang/install. Sculpture pedestals/stands must be provided by the artist. Delivery and pick-up of the artwork will be the artist’s responsibility. Information about preparing 2D hanging work will be supplied by the SCAC.

Another Pop Up Arts gallery will run from Saturday, November 5 through Sunday November 27, as part of the 2nd Annual Celebrating Veterans Through Art event taking place in St. Charles, IL from November 5 – 12, 2016. The Artist Reception will be Saturday, November 5.
The Theme of the gallery is “From Sea to Shining Sea”. Artists should submit work that is of America and Americans – celebrating the depth and breadth of our country. Entries for the gallery can be in any style or medium of visual art, or video, whose subject is people, places or things anywhere in America.

Marquee Youth Stage (MyStage) is a 501(c)3 children’s theatre and performing arts organization dedicated to broadening the reach and impact of theatre so that students of all abilities and skills may benefit. Our goal is to increase the opportunities for theater in order to build confidence, enrich minds, ignite creativity, and ultimately empower youth with the skills and knowledge of how theater can serve and benefit the community at large.

studio C112, 3800 E. Main St, St. Charles.

STUDENT ARTISTS… Photographer needed! [Posted: 04/29/2016]
A local woman who is running for political office needs a picture for her web site.
The requirements for the photo are:
1. MUST BE… An image that reflects the beauty of the Fox River Valley – it can include the Fox River, bike path, or…?
2. NOTE IT… The photograph needs to be a landscape image, so “horizontal.”
3. NIX IT…No close ups of a building, or a photograph that reflects a single community.
4. WRITE IT… Permission from the photographer for the photograph to appear on the website’s splash page.
Photo credit will be provided on the requesters website. Also, a small stipend or gift certificate will be awarded to the photographer.
