COMING THIS SUMMER! Artist Amanda Browder will be coming to St. Charles to facilitate a community wide art project in August 2021. Amanda's projects are large-scale fabric installations that are draped over large-scale buildings or structures. Fabric is donated by the citizens of our city and the fabric piece is constructed and sewn by local volunteers. Her art work is "a celebration of location, community, sustainability and the self-beautification and celebration of a town."
The fabric installation created by the St. Charles community will be on display at the St. Charles Municipal Building in mid August. We are grateful to the City for allowing us to use their building as a canvas for this art installation.
Many volunteers will be needed for this project. We will need A LOT of cotton fabric to be donated, sewing machines donated and many hands to help with the construction of this art piece. Pinning and sewing will take place daily at Baker Memorial Methodist Church from August 5 until the project is complete. Can you help? No experience required! email email@example.com to sign up!
